Orphanage

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means
caring for orphans and widows in their distress.” James 1:27

Bringing Faith & Hope to Some of India’s Most Vulnerable Children

India, with a population of 1.342 billion, has the highest number of orphans in any country, with 31 million children in this situation. This data is provided by UNICEF. Supporting orphan children in India is crucial due to the country's large population. Neglecting their needs is not only inhumane but also hinders economic development. Providing shelter for all street orphans in India is a significant challenge that needs to be addressed.

The Orphanage run by RFM caters to children with diverse backgrounds, such as parentless, semi-orphans, street children, and those affected by HIV/AIDS. The children, aged 5 to 16, receive shelter, food, education, clothing, and medical attention. They are nurtured with care and affection to secure their well-being and future. However, additional sponsorship is required to meet their needs effectively.

Child Rescue Programme focuses on protecting children from child labour and abuse in disaster-affected communities. The organization, RFM, is dedicated to safeguarding children from neglect, exploitation, physical danger, and violence. The orphanage is supported by limited resources and donations from philanthropists to provide care for children in need.

The current situation in India presents significant practical and financial challenges, which pose formidable obstacles for millions of disadvantaged children.

The organization focuses on raising awareness about children's rights, specifically their right to education, in vulnerable communities. The goal is to promote sending children to school instead of having them work at a young age. They work with neglected or abandoned children from financially struggling families, providing support and encouragement based on their skills and interests.
